Iron Casting

Course Description:

This is a five-day course in sand casting (co2 sand) and casting in iron. Day one to three will be spent producing moulds and preparing the iron and coke for the pour. Day four will be the iron pour, and day five will be spent opening the moulds and chasing. Students will gain an insight into the possibilities of iron casting and the speed of sand moulding.

Iron Casting is a real hands on, dynamic course. In the past it has been attended by both complete beginners and artists accustomed to working in other ways who simply want to explore and experiment.
